The moon has been sighted, fasting starts tomorrow

Own correspondent, Dhaka, 11 March 2024: The moon of the month of Ramadan was seen in the sky of the country on Monday (11 March) evening. Therefore, the holy month of fasting (fasting) for Muslims begins tomorrow, Tuesday (March 12). The holy Lailatul Qadr will be celebrated on the night of April 6 (Saturday).

On Monday evening, Deputy Director of different districts including Manikganj, Shariatpur, Habiganj of the foundation called the Dini dawat and culture department of the Islamic Foundation in Baitul Mokarram of the capital and informed about the moon sighting. The month of Shaban has ended in 29 days. Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of Muslims, will come at the end of Ramadan. He also said that the holy Lailatul Qadr will be celebrated on Saturday night (27th night of Ramadan) on April 6.

On Monday night after the Isha prayer, the 20-rakat Taraweeh prayer will begin. Muslims eat Sehri on the last night of fasting. The last time of Sehri on the first day in Dhaka is 4:51 PM. Iftar time of the first fast on Tuesday is 6:00 10 minutes.

For devout Muslims, Ramadan is a month of moderation, self-purification and sacrifice. Ramadan is divided into three parts - Rahmat (Grace of God), Maghferat (Forgiveness) and Najat (Deliverance from Hellfire). In this month, Muslims observe fasting by refraining from eating, drinking, sexual intercourse and any kind of sin from dawn to sunset.

In the last part of this month there is the night of Lailatul Qadr which is better than a thousand months of worship. According to Islam, Allah increases the reward of every good deed in the month of Ramadan 70 times.
