Toll Collection | Padma Bridge Padma Bridge: 660 crore toll collected in 10 months
Dhaka, April 27: Since its inauguration i.e. from June 26 last year to April 25 this year, a total of Tk 660 crore 24 thousand 150 in toll have been collected from Padma Bridge, said Road Transport and Bridges Minister and General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Obaidul Quader.
On Wednesday (April 26) morning in the conference room of the bridge department, he said this in an exchange meeting with officials and employees. He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina can auspiciously inaugurate the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel in September.
The bridge minister said that from 6 am on April 20 to 6 am on April 26, a total of 77 thousand 529 motorcycles crossed both ends of the Padma Bridge, from which 77 lakh 52 thousand 900 taka were collected as toll. Meanwhile, the minister directed the concerned to make preparations from now to ensure smooth movement of passengers during the coming Eid-ul-Azha, taking into consideration the issue of cow market, animal transport and rain.
Bangladesh Bridge Authority Chief Engineer Kazi Md Ferdaus, Project Manager of various projects and senior officials of Bridge Department were present in the meeting under the chairmanship of Bridge Division Secretary Md Manjur Hossain.
