Parliamentary polls: Awami League to share 32 seats with JaPa and 14-party allies

Dhaka, Dec 17: The ruling Awami League has decided to share 32 seats with Jatiya Party (JaPa) and 14-party allies in the 12th National Parliament elections scheduled to be held on January 7.

Awami League's office secretary Biplab Barua said this to the media at the Election Commission (EC) on Sunday (December 17) afternoon.

Biplab Barua said, "Awami League will leave 26 seats to Jatiya Party (JaPa) and six more seats to 14-party allies."

"Awami League officially sent a letter to EC regarding their party candidates on Sunday," Barua added.

Awami League has withdrawn its candidates in 26 seats where Jatiya Party candidates will contest with their party symbol. On the other hand, the candidates of 14-party allies will contest the polls with the electoral symbol of Awami League.
