Remaining four metro rail stations to be opened this month

Dhaka, March 2: Metrorail has a total of nine stations on its route from Uttara North to Agargaon. Of these, five are operational. Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) authorities said these four stations, which are awaiting inauguration, will be opened this month. These four stations are Uttara South, Mirpur-11, Kazipara and Sheorapara.

Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, manager of DMTCL, gave this information to the journalists at Mirpur-10 metro rail station on Wednesday.

He said, "We are opening all the stations consistently. In continuation of this, metro rail number five station Mirpur-10 was opened today. Total 9 stations on Agargaon to Uttara route. Of these, the remaining four openings. This four stations will be opened this month. All our preparations are done. We are ready for opening anytime."

Mirpur-10 station has been opened for public from Wednesday. The gate of the new station was opened at 8 am on this day. Through this, Uttara North, Agargaon, Pallabi, Uttara Center and Mirpur-10 stations were opened.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the metro rail on December 28 last year. Uttara North and Agargaon stations were opened on the first day. On the day of the inauguration, the Prime Minister traveled by metro rail from Uttara Uttar station to Agargaon. The next day, the Metrorail was opened to the public from 29 December.

Then two more stations were opened one by one. Among them, Pallabi station was opened on January 25 and Uttara Center station on February 18. This time Mirpur-10 station was opened as the fifth station.

There are total 9 stations en route from Uttara North to Agargaon. Of these, five are operational, leaving four now. The four stations awaiting inauguration include Uttara Dakshin, Mirpur-11, Kazipara and Sheorapara stations.
