EC Alamgir Will hold election fairly: EC Alamgir to BNP
Dhaka, Oct 16: Calling on BNP to come to the polls, Election Commissioner Md. Alamgir said, "We want all political parties to come to the polls. We want BNP to come to the elections. So far I have done fair voting, I will do fair voting in the future too, Insha'Allah."
The EC said these things in response to a question from journalists at the election building on Sunday, October 15.
BNP is not coming to the election, what is your tension? In response to such a question, Alamgir said that there is no tension about our elections. Have you ever seen us tense? We are fully confident, the election will happen. You see, not all political parties participate in any election. You see in history, not all parties came to the polls even in the 70s. 44 parties will appear in the elections, some parties may not appear.
If the BNP does not come, will you feel bad? To such a question, he said, we will be happy if BNP comes to the election. It is up to those who claim it. We want them to participate in the elections. We are ready for fair elections. We want all political parties to come. "You (BNP) come to the election, the vote will be fair".
What will be the dialogue with the political party? In response to such questions, the EC said that there has been no discussion on dialogue yet. Ballot paper will be sent to the center on the day of voting? In this context, the EC said that no decision has been made yet on giving the ballot paper in the morning or earlier. Where it is supposed to go in the morning will go in the morning, and where it is supposed to go earlier it will go earlier. The decision will be made after the announcement of the schedule.
Regarding the schedule and voting, Alamgir said, the commission has not decided on this yet. But it will be scheduled in November.
