Government asks biranganas for information to include names in gazette
Dhaka, October 30: The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has called for the gazette registration of biranganas who fought against the Pakistani aggressors during the 1971 war of independence, an official press release from the ministry notified on Thursday (October 29).
'Bir' to be added before Muktijoddhas' names, government issue gazette
Dhaka, October 29: The government has published a gazette providing for the use of the word 'Bir' before the names of freedom fighters at all times. Earlier, an order was issued by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.

Dhaka, October 29: Haider Anwar Khan Juno, a freedom fighter and communist leader, has died. His daughter Ananya Laboni said her father died at the capital's Public Health City Hospital around 1.30pm on Thursday.

Dhaka, October 29: The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has asked the 'Muktijoddhas' to appeal for medical services under the 'Provide Medical Services in India' scheme, which will be available for 100 indigent freedom fighters.
Jatiyo Muktijoddha Council cancels 30 freedom fighters’ certificates
Dhaka, October 27: The government has cancelled the certificates of 30 more people. Their certificate has been revoked on the recommendation of the Jatiyo Muktijoddha Council (Jamuka) as there was no evidence to support their participation in the liberation war. The certificate has been cancelled and the gazette has been issued on 18 October. This was recommended at the 68th meeting of Jamuka.
March 7 declared as historic day
Dhaka, October 20: A circular has been issued declaring March 7 as a historic day. The circular was issued by the cabinet department. Earlier on October 7, the cabinet approved the proposal.

Dhaka, October 19: A meeting of the parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has proposed to observe the first day of December, the month of victory, as 'Freedom Fighter's Day'.
BTCL to provide free internet, telephone to Bir Shrestha families
Dhaka, 15 October 2020: State-owned telecommunications company BTCL is providing free telephone and internet services to the family members of the heroes of Bangladesh's war of independence. In a press release on Thursday, BTCL said that the 180th board meeting recently approved a policy to provide telephone or internet connection for the family members (wife and children) of Bir Shrestha.
