Dhaka, October 25: Restrictions and instructions from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) on travel to and from Bangladesh due to the coronavirus pandemic have been lifted. In other words, from now on, there is no ban on going to any country of the world (according to the restrictions of that country) or coming to Bangladesh from those countries.

Malaysia lifts ban on migrant workers, tourists

Dhaka, October 23: After 18 months, Malaysia has lifted the ban on migrant workers and tourists it had imposed earlier due to the coronavirus pandemic. The special mommittee on epidemic management has agreed to the proposed standardized management system for the entry of foreign workers. This was stated in a statement signed by Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Friday (August 22).

Speedboat service resumes on Banglabazar-Shimulia route after five months

Dhaka, October 8: After being closed for more than five months (156 days), speedboat service has resumed on the Banglabazar-Shimulia route from Thursday afternoon. In this case only registered speedboats will be able to operate. On May 3 this year, 26 speedboat passengers were killed when they collided with a bulkhead anchored at the wharf. After this incident, speedboat service on the aforementioned route was stopped.

India to issue tourist visa from October 15

Dhaka, October 8: After a long year and a half, the Indian government will start issuing new tourist visas to foreigners from November 15. However, those who are travelling to India on a chartered flight will be issued visas from October 15. India's foreign ministry said on Thursday (October 7).

Dhaka, October 6: The first phase of bus route rationalization is starting from December 1 with 120 new buses under the name 'Dhaka Nagar Paribahan' (Dhaka City Transport). The transport will run from Ghatarchar in Keraniganj to Kanchpur.

Dhaka, September 30: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has agreed to allow passengers on direct flights from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for coronavirus testing has also been adopted in the RT-PCR laboratories of the six institutes set up at the airport. As a result, from now on, expatriate workers and UAE-bound passengers will be able to go directly after getting their coronavirus samples checked before departure as per the instructions.

CAAB agrees to air bubble arrangement with India

Dhaka, September 3: The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has lifted the ban on Bangladesh-India flights under the Air Bubble Agreement. CAAB has agreed to the August 28 proposal of the Civil Aviation Authority of India and has allowed flights to operate from September 4. Flights will continue under the Air Bubble Agreement until regular scheduled flights are introduced. The CAAB sent a letter of consent to India's civil aviation on Thursday (September 2nd).
