61 more Biranganas recognised as Freedom Fighters

Dhaka, December 15: The government has recognized 61 more Biranganas, who were tortured by the Pakistani forces and their allies in the Liberation War, as freedom fighters (muktijoddhas). With this, the number of Biranganas recognized as freedom fighters stood at 400. The gazette was issued on Monday (December 14) in recognition of their freedom fighters. The Biranganas got this recognition as per the decision of the 70th meeting of the National Freedom Fighters Council (Jamuka).

Muktijoddha Akram Ahmed dies

Dhaka, December 8: Heroic freedom fighter Captain Akram Ahmed, Bir Uttam, is no more (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Raziun). He died at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka at 11:15 am on Monday. He was 74 years old.
