No issuance of intercity train tickets from April 11

Dhaka, April 1: Bangladesh Railway has introduced new rules for issuing passenger train tickets due to coronavirus epidemic. A letter signed by Deputy Director of Railways (TC) Mohammad Nahid Hasan Khan on Wednesday (March 31) said the new rules would be issued.

Bike taxis banned for two weeks as Covid cases surge

Dhaka, April 1: The Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has banned the transport of passengers on motorcycles for two weeks due to the deteriorating coronavirus situation in the country. The matter was announced in an office order signed by BRTA Deputy Director (Engineering Branch) Bimalendu Chakma on Wednesday (March 31st).

Aricha-Kazirhat ferry services to resume after two decades

Dhaka, February 27: The Aricha-Kazirhat ferry route has been re-launched after 20 years to alleviate the suffering of the people. Earlier, the ferry service was moved from Aricha to Paturia in 2002 due to navigability crisis. State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury today inaugurated the Aricha-Kazirhat ferry service at the Aricha end of Manikganj on Saturday (February 27).

Dhaka-Jalpaiguri trains from March 26

Dhaka, February 25: Rail communication is being introduced between Jalpaiguri (NJP) of India and Dhaka. This rail service will be launched from March 26. This train will run two days a week. The train will leave NJP on Monday and Thursday and will leave Dhaka Cantonment Station on Tuesday and Friday.
