Chittagong gets new commuter trains

Dhaka, February 6: Two pairs of commuter trains have been launched from Chittagong on Patia and Dohazari routes. Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan inaugurated the trains on Saturday (February 6). He inaugurated the commuter train of Chittagong-Dohazari and Chittagong-Patia-Chittagong routes from Dohazari railway station at 11:30 am and 12:30 pm respectively.

5,386 passengers among 84 UK returnees sent to quarantine

Dhaka, February 5: Authorities in Bangladesh have sent 5,386 passengers, including 84 returnees from the United Kingdom, to quarantine from Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the last 24 hours in between Thursday and Friday.

More than 9 lakh passengers sent to quarantine from Shahjalal Airport

Dhaka, February 1: Despite the risks and fears of the coronavirus infection, a large numbers of expatriates from around the world, including Europe, America and the United Kingdom, are returning to the country. A total of 9,08,017 expatriate passengers have returned to the country and entered through the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at different times from January 1, 2020 to January 30, 2021.

Traffic banked up for a 40 km stretch of Bangabandhu Bridge Western Highway

Dhaka, January 20: In Sirajganj, at least 40 km of Bangabandhu Bridge West and Bogra highways have been severely congested. Thousands of vehicles are parked in the two lanes of the highway. On Tuesday (January 19) from morning to afternoon the traffic was sometimes slow on the highway. The Karnafuli tunnel will be ready for traffic by next year

Dhaka, January 19: The 3.32 km long tunnel under Karnafuli river is expected to be ready for traffic by 2022. Project Director (PD) Engineer Harunur Rashid Chowdhury told BSS today that the overall progress of the Karnafuli Tunnel has reached 62 per cent and the financial progress has been achieved at 56.60 per cent. Once completed, the tunnel will be part of the Asian Highway.

After 10 and a half hours, ferry starts plying on Daulatdia-Paturia route

14 passengers arrived in Bangladesh on five flights from the United Kingdom

Dhaka, January 16: On the last day of the 'mandatory 14-day institutional quarantine' rule, 14 passengers arrived in the country on five flights from the United Kingdom. They came to the country from 8 am on January 15 to 8 am on January 16.
